“It was a dramatic finish,” said Auburn Equestrian Coach Greg Williams after his team won the Tigers’ fourth National Championship in Waco, Texas.
Auburn competed in the finals against TCU, sweeping the Horned Frogs in Equitation on the Flat. However, the Tigers only held 7-5 lead entering the final event. Then Blair McFarlin defeated TCU’s Hunter De Jane 138-137.5 to secure the championship by giving Auburn it’s eighth point.
“It was a dramatic finish to a great season,” Williams said as the Tigers capped off their record setting SEC Championship year (16-1) with the national title.
