“Winning the SEC is such an honor that it’s hard to put in words,” Auburn Equestrian Head Coach Greg Williams said after the Tigers won the conference championship Saturday.
Although Auburn has won three national championships, Saturday’s victory marked the first time for the Tigers to win the Southeastern Conference title. The No.1 Tigers defeated No. 2 Georgia, 11-7 at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga.
Williams said he’s very proud of the team. “We have great senior leadership and all the underclassmen have really bought into this program.”
The seniors will be leading the team on a quest for Auburn’s fourth National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) national title, April 14-16, in Waco, Texas.
