The much anticipated debut of Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham was not all that fans had hoped it would be, yet he did a good job in leading the Tigers in a 41-7 defeat of Georgia Southern.
The sophomore’s 20 month layoff from playing football was apparent at times as he made a couple of errant throws, one of which resulted in an interception. Also apparent though was his raw talent and field generalship.
After rushing for a 14-yard score in the second quarter, he threw two second half touchdowns. The first came in the third quarter when Ryan Davis caught a 19 yarder and the second came when his favorite target, Will Hastings caught another 19 yard score in the fourth quarter.
