The Auburn baseball team won two of three games during its weekend series with Lipscomb University, once again starting strong with starting pitchers Keegan Thompson and Casey Mize but seeing its bullpen struggle later in the series.
The team’s record is now 9-3.
Thompson once again showed why he is one of the country’s best college pitchers with seven shutout innings on Friday in which he gave up only one hit and struck out five. Thompson (3-0) has now started the season with 21 consecutive shutout innings, just short of the Auburn record.
