In a contest that saw angry and passionate fans, a coach ejection, extra innings and ended on a fielding error after four-plus hours of softball, everything an Alabama-Auburn rivalry has to offer was served up as Auburn avoided the three-game sweep, beating Alabama, 13-12, in eight innings.
“This was a great example of what we have to do to get ready for the postseason,” Auburn head coach Clint Myers said. “I was very proud of the way we fought back. Corey (Myers) said it in the meeting, there were any number of times they could have rolled over and died.
