Auburn athletic director Allen Greene has been steadfast in his support of men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl. On Tuesday, Greene reiterated those feelings when asked about Pearl’s future with the team.
According to SECCountry.com, Greene told reporters that negotiations regarding Pearl’s new contract are “ongoing.” Pearl, whose current deal paid him a base salary of $2.5 million last season, is under contract through June 30, 2020.
Greene said there was not a specific timetable to complete the deal but added it is the athletic department’s aim to keep Pearl.
“I think those types of things are ongoing,” Greene said.
