The crowd fell silent during the first half of Saturday’s Auburn-South Carolina game at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia after Auburn’s Anfernee McLemore went down with what appeared to be a lower-leg injury.
Head Coaches Bruce Pearl and Frank Martin quickly went to the aid of the forward from Warwick, Georgia, and Auburn’s players surrounded McLemore before he was carted off the floor.
McLemore was transported to a local hospital from the arena, and updated fans of the diagnosis after the game:
Thank you Auburn Family for all the love and support! Doctors said I dislocated my ankle, fractured my tibia, and will need surgery for some torn ligaments.
