Joshua Burks' future athletic plans changed faster than he could steal second base or run the 60-meter dash.
The James Clemens senior and life-long baseball fan figured he'd be playing on the diamond for years to come. Instead, he signed with Auburn today to run track a little more than a year after first competing in the sport.
"It was very surprising," Burks said prior to a signing ceremony. "I never thought in the whole wide world that I'd be recruited by an SEC team to run track. Ever. One year ago I thought I was going to be in baseball.
