Six of the eight people inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night have SEC football ties.
Kevin Turner, Ken Donahue, Jim Goostree, Jeff Herrod, Takeo Spikes and Carnell “Cadillac” Williams all were inducted as members of the 2017 class.
Turner, Donahue and Goostree all have Alabama ties, while Spikes and Williams played at Auburn. Herrod, who’s from Alabama, played at Ole Miss.
Turner played fullback for the Crimson Tide from 1988-91 before eight seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. He died in March from CTE linked to head trauma that led to a motor neuron disease similar to ALS.
