It wasn’t 100% certain that 4* ATH Jashawn Sheffield would sign early as the South Carolina Gamecocks were working hard to convince the young man to wait until February so he could take an official visit to Columbia. Sheffield elected instead to stick with his pledge and sign early with the Tigers.
Sheffield broke out as a freshman when he was a star running back for Frederica Academy. He actually debuted as the #6 player in the country in the initial 2016 rankings on 247 Composite but has seen that ranking fall over the past two years.
