Three Auburn players missed the Tigers’ season opener Saturday against Georgia Southern.

An Auburn spokesman announced ahead of kickoff that running back Kamryn Pettway, wide receiver Kyle Davis and backup quarterback Sean White would all miss the game because of suspension.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said Tuesday that no players were suspended for the game. “We expect everybody to play,” he said.

Pettway, the Tigers’ starting running back, rushed for 1,224 yards and seven touchdowns last season in 10 games.

Davis had 12 catches for 248 yards as a freshman last season after missing the spring for personal reasons.
