There were a lot of high points in the 2015 campaign for Auburn baseball as the team finished with a 36-26 overall record, won an SEC Tournament game and won an NCAA Regionals game.
Despite one of the best seasons Auburn baseball has enjoyed in quite some time, after just his second year as head coach Sunny Golloway was fired after an internal investigation of compliance issues within the baseball program.
That led to the return of Butch Thompson to Auburn in order to replace Golloway. Thompson had been with Mississippi State for the past seven years as the assistant coach and associate head coach.
