Let’s go back a few years to the ill-fated 2012 season that still haunts Auburn fans, and will for years to come.
Fresh off a close loss to an SEC opponent, Auburn headed in to a game against Texas A&M starting its backup QB, questions about play calling, and a defense that was hemorrhaging points and yards at unprecedented levels.
Despite a big-name D-coordinator hire, Auburn was giving up 29 points and over 440 yards per contest.
The offense was averaging 27 points and 370 total yards a game. Auburn had thrown only six total touchdowns and eight interceptions.
