Four-star linebacker Will Ignont (New Market, AL) has a top three of Auburn, Alabama and Georgia, but he reportedly knows which school he's going to.
“I have told a school that’s the school I’m going to,” Ignont said, via 247sports. “I’m just waiting to go public with that here soon.”
Ignont plans to announce his decision by the end of the month. He recently named Alabama as his top school, but he still isn't tipping his hand.
“Georgia, Auburn, Alabama — those three schools are sticking out to me out of everyone right now. Of course, those two in-state schools have the edge right now, just because it’s in-state. Especially Alabama. I don’t have to leave the state if I don’t want to. I really don’t have to leave the state to win a national championship or play major Division I football so that’s big for me.”
One thing going in Auburn's favor is Ignont's relationship with linebackers coach Travis Williams, which could be the deciding factor for him.
“I talk to him every day. He shoots me straight all the time. He talks to me like I’m his son. That’s the thing — those guys at Auburn — that’s why it’s so hard for me to pick any type of school over them. It’s because I’ve been close with them since I was a freshman. I look at these guys like father-figures.”
Ignont is ranked as the No. 5 inside linebacker and No. 163 overall prospect in the country.
