Coming off a close win at Kansas State, the Auburn Tigers return home to host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.
Records:
Auburn: 3-0 (1-0 SEC)
Louisiana Tech: 2-2 (1-0 C-USA)
Last Meeting: Auburn won 37-13 in 2009
Key Stat: Auburn's 359 total yards versus Kansas State was their lowest total of the season. They had a combined for 1,088 total yards in the previous two games.
Auburn Outlook: The Tigers escaped with a win against a tough Kansas State team, improving to 3-0 in the process.
Nick Marshall wasn't great last week, throwing for just 231 yards with two scores and an interception, but did enough to get the win.
Receiver D'haquille Williams helped the offense with a big game, catching eight balls for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Louisiana Tech Outlook: The Bulldogs play their second top five team of the season after facing Oklahoma early in the year.
Senior quarterback Cody Sokol has been impressive for LA Tech, throwing for 1009 yards and 10 touchdowns through the first quarter of the season.
After a 48-16 loss at Oklahoma, the Bulldogs will look to have a better showing against an equally difficult opponent, after losing to Northwestern State last week.
What to watch for: Auburn's offense slowed down in a big way last week, though it's excusable against their toughest opponent to date.
Look for Marshall to get back to putting up huge offensive numbers against a defense that looked way overmatched against Oklahoma.
Running back Cameron Artis-Payne should find more room to run this week after averaging just 2.9 yards per carry last game.
What they're saying:
Marshall key to success for toughest schedule in the nation (Track 'em Tigers)
'We didn't get to all' of packages for Jeremy Johnson says Gus Malzahn (AL.com)
Prediction:
Louisiana Tech - 14, Auburn - 40
Despite Auburn's offensive struggles last week, no one is mistaking Louisiana Tech for Kansas State. The Tigers should get back on track and have a field day against the Bulldogs.
