Auburn Football News: Tigers Use 2nd Half Surge to Roll Arkansas 45-21

After an Auburn missed field goal ended the first half, the Tigers and Razorbacks went into the locker room in a 21-21 deadlock.

Full First-half Recap

Starting quarterback Nick Marshall returned to lead the Auburn offense after halftime, spelling an impressive start from backup Jeremy Johnson.

Marshall promptly led the offense to a tie-breaking score with a 19-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the second half.

Auburn opened up a two score lead with a 34-yard interception return, capping a strong 3rd quarter defensive effort, where they held Arkansas scoreless with just 38 yards of offense.

The Arkansas defense also began to wear down when facing duel-threat Nick Marshall, who broke off a number of first down runs to keep the Razorbacks on the field.

A 45-yard field goal by Auburn gave them a 38-21 lead just before lightning caused a weather delay mid-way through the 4th quarter.

Auburn completed the second half shutout of Arkansas with a 45-21 final.

The Tigers host San Jose State next week.
