The bulk of the Auburn Tigers' recruiting work has already been done for the Class of 2016, but there's still a handful of major impact signings which could be on the horizon for Gus Malzahn's coaching staff. Here's our list of 3 Top Uncommitted 2016 Football Recruits Auburn Can Still Land.
DT Rashan Gary
The #1 overall recruit in the Class of 2016 took an official back to Auburn in November, but the departure of Will Muschamp in the dead of night to South Carolina soured his mother on the program for a time -- especially after Muschamp basically promised that he'd be around to lead the charge if Gary chose the Tigers.
The Tigers have built their case back up since then, as head coach Gus Malzahn has put on the press. However, it'd still be a major upset for Auburn to land him with Michigan way out in front and a likely second visit to Tuscaloosa upcoming.
However, there's still a chance. And that's good enough for now.
WR Nate Craig-Myers
The four-star Tampa (FL) product narrowed his list down to Auburn and North Carolina on Tuesday after canceling a visit to Ole Miss, but a commitment to the Tigers seems all but locked up. A former Auburn commit, Craig-Myers reopened his commitment back in early May.
However, the #6 overall wide receiver in the Class of 2016 has remained strong on the Tigers since his decommitment and hasn't latched on to any other secondary contenders except for UNC. Unless the Tar Heels pull off a major upset, Auburn has the inside track at a new #1 receiver.
DT Derrick Brown
The five-star Buford (GA) has Georgia listed as his favorite due to his evolving bond with the coaching staff, but he's still considering a wide swath of other contenders -- including Auburn.
A massive inside-line force, Brown is taking his final visit this weekend to Tennessee. However, Auburn is considered to be the breakaway #2 for his pledge behind Georgia, with the Vols, Alabama and Mississippi State trailing.
