The 4-4 Auburn Tigers hit the road to face No. 25 the Texas A&M Aggies. Texas A&M is 6-2, with their only losses coming against Alabama and Ole Miss. It's been a rough season for Auburn, and they are seven point underdogs. However, Auburn still has a chance against A&M. Here are three reasons why Auburn will upset Texas A&M.
Capitalizing On A Freshman QB's Mistakes
A&M QB Kyler Murray is incredibly talented, so Auburn will have their hands full. He's a great athlete, whose best ability at this point in his career is his running skills. Murray played well against South Carolina, but he's still a true freshman QB. He'll make mistakes, and Auburn will need to capitalize on them. If they do that, they'll be able to pull the upset and knock off Texas A&M.
Better Play From Sean White
The Jeremy Johnson experiment was a disaster, but White has at least brought a semblance of steady play to Auburn. He still has plenty of room to grow, but he's avoided the turnovers that plagued Johnson. He's thrown for 250 yards in three straight games, a figure Johnson never topped. White is far from perfect, but if he provides steady play, Auburn has a chance to pull the upset.
Running Game
For the Tigers to win, they must run the ball early and often. Texas A&M's defense is allowing more than 200 yards per game, which means Auburn can have success on the ground. Running back Peyton Barber was limited against Ole Miss, but he should be back to full strength against the Aggies. Barber had 11 TDs in the three games before Ole Miss, and he could be in for a monster day against Texas A&M. If Barber has success, that will open up the play-action pass and allow Auburn to control the clock. For Auburn to pull the upset, the Tigers must have a big game on the ground.
