After trading up for the top spot in today’s MLS Re-Entry Draft (Stage 1), Atlanta United selected the MLS rights to defender Andrew Gutman, who is on loan from Celtic of the Scottish Premiership. Gutman is a left back that played for FC Cincinnati last season.
Moments ago, the club acquired the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s Re-Entry Draft (Stage 1) from FC Cincinnati in exchange for the No. 4 pick and $75,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM).
Similar to the End-of-Year Waivers process, teams select in the reverse order of their finish during the 2020 season, taking into account playoff performance.
