You cannot kill the Seattle Sounders. The 2016 MLS Cup champions went to top-seeded and Supporters Shield-winning LAFC and won quite soundly at Banc of California Stadium. After conceding the opening goal of the game to LAFC via a superb Eduard Atuesta free kick, DSS’s Haris Kruskic promptly went to bed and Seattle secured the comeback win.
But I’m burying the lede. The win by Seattle means that Atlanta United will have a chance to host MLS Cup for the second consecutive season if they can defeat Toronto FC in the Eastern Conference Final.
