In a match that was delayed an hour due to lightning, Nashville SC struck for two goals inside the first 11 minutes to beat ATL UTD 2 2-0 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Nashville SC found itself on the front foot early as they applied pressure on the Atlanta defense from the get go. In the 4th minute, a bit of miscommunication between Will Vint and Brendan Moore saw Vint’s pass back to his keeper go into his own net to make it 1-0 Nashville. Minutes later, Matt LaGrassa was given too much room at the top of the box and beat a diving Brendan Moore to double the margin.
