Atlanta United has finally found its defensive midfielder. The club announced today that it has signed midfielder Eric Remedi from Argentine Primera Division club Banfield for an undisclosed fee.
Remedi, 23, joins the club after spending more than three seasons with Banfield. Rumors circulating before the deal was completed speculated that the transfer fee could be for as much as $2 million.
The Five Stripes have been searching for depth at the defensive midfield position since February after the unexpected departure of Carlos Carmona, who requested to leave the club to be closer to his wife as she was due to give berth.
