Atlanta United announced today that is has signed defender Florentin Pogba on a free transfer. The 28-year-old defender joins the Five Stripes after seeing his contract run out with Turkish club Gençlerbirliu011fi.
Pogba is a veteran of Ligue 1, spending seven years with Saint-Etienne. He’s also appeared 21 times for the Guinea national team.
According to transfermarkt.com, he’s capable of playing both centerback positions and can also fill in at left back if needed.
“We’re pleased to officially welcome Florentin to our club,” said Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra.
