New York Red Bulls' win over Atlanta United marred by Kemar Lawrence injury

Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence was taken off the field in a cart on Sunday after being injured in New York's 3-1 victory over Atlanta United.

The Red Bulls confirmed on Sunday night that Lawrence was "conscious, fully responsive and in good spirits."

The team said he would remain on the hospital overnight for observation.

"We're hopeful that everything is OK," Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch said.

The game was stopped in the 72nd minute when Lawrence slid to hit a ball and went down.

Lawrence stayed facedown, not moving, for several minutes and was eventually put into a neck brace and carted off.
