Atlanta United’s first foray into the Concacaf Champions League continues tonight with the first leg of their much anticipated quarterfinal match-up with Liga MX’s Monterrey. While we may be biased, this seems to be the most competitive and possibly the most exciting pairing within the final 8.
The Five Stripes begin this tie away from home as they did in the Round of 16. They’ll be looking to not dig themselves as big of a hole as they did against Herediano. That may be a difficult ask considering the form Monterrey are in. Rayados sit second in the league through the first nine matches of the Clausura season.
