PRO has announced referee assignments for the first week of MLS and Atlanta United will see a familiar face in the middle.
The day was July 22nd, 2015. Mexico faced off against Panama in Atlanta to decide who would advance to the Gold Cup final. A match that will live in infamy within the city and CONCACAF lore.
Referee Mark Geiger was the man in charge of that match. His questionable calls resulted in the night being as contentious as you’ll see on the big international stage. The match was stopped several times due to altercations between teams and fans.
