The reigning MLS Rookie of the Year has started the season hot with a goal and three assists in the teams first five matches. Julian Gressel, a midfielder by trade, has been a crucial component in Tata Martino’s 3-5-2 formation that has propelled Atlanta United to four straight wins since losing 4-0 to Houston Dynamo on opening day. The thing is, Gressel isn’t doing this in his natural position, he’s doing it at right wing-back.
As stated earlier, Gressel has been on an absolute tear so far, earning MLS Team of the Week for the second time in five games.
