On Tuesday, Atlanta United midfielder Emerson Hyndman revealed himself as one of the two players to test positive prior to the team leaving for Orlando. The Five Stripes received two positive tests while training at the team’s facilities in June, one of which turns out was Hyndman.
He says he tested positive despite showing any symptoms and doesn’t know how he may have contracted the virus.
“Pretty much the whole team has kept a simple life,” he said. “It could have been anything. Could have walked by someone and ended up getting it. The training ground is very protocol driven.
