That was a game that happened. At least that’s what the history books will say after Atlanta United scraped by the Charleston Battery in the U.S. Open Cup by a final score of 3-1 after extra time. The teams played in front of an attendance of zero in an echoey, slippery Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw Thursday. Romario Williams scored the equalizer for Atlanta late in the second half, and Brandon Vazquez scored the winner off the bench in extra time in the 110th minute. Vazquez added the dagger in the 120th minute.
