Atlanta United will be without the services of Carlos Carmona on Wednesday when they travel to take on D.C. United at RFK Stadium. Against Columbus Crew SC on Saturday night, Carmona picked up his fifth yellow card of the season on a foul in the 21st minute and will serve a one-game ban for yellow card accumulation, per MLS rules.
Carmona has started all but one match in the midfield for Atlanta this season. The last match he missed was United’s 6-1 win over Minnesota United on March 12, and that was due to disciplinary reasons as well: he received a one-game ban due to a red card he was shown in the 88th minute of the team’s inaugural match against the New York Red Bulls.
