Following a big 3-1 win over Chicago on Saturday, Atlanta United undergoes a quick turnaround into Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinal action against fellow MLS side Philadelphia Union. Unlike Saturday’s match, this one will be nationally televised, which hopefully translates to less time confusedly flipping through TV guides and more time enjoying some #CCLFever.
This will be the first time in the Five Stripes’ three consecutive quarterfinal appearances that the opponent will not be a Liga MX side, the past two of which ended Atlanta’s run in the competition. Although Philadelphia is a more familiar league opponent, the two teams have not shared a pitch since the 2019 Eastern Conference Semifinal, which Atlanta won 2-0.
