A few hours after clinching a berth in MLS Cup for the first time, Atlanta United now knows which team stands between them and true glory. The Portland Timbers will be the opponent for the Five Stripes at Mercedes-Benz Stadium next Saturday after defeating Sporting Kansas City in the Western Conference Final.
Due to having the most points of the finalists, the final comes to Atlanta. Atlanta United have played the Timbers at home this season and drew 1-1 with them.
