Atlanta United signs Rocco Rios Novo on Short-Term Agreement to first team

Atlanta United announced Monday it has has signed its USL goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo to a Short-Term Agreement (a four-day contract) for the club’s Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 match at LD Alajuelense Tuesday night.

An MLS club may sign a player to a maximum of four short term agreements each season (maximum of 16 days). Rios Novo has participated with the first team throughout training camp and played in preseason scrimmages to prepare. He will be the reserve goalkeeper in the squad to back up starter Brad Guzan.

Rios Novo, 18, signed with Atlanta United 2 on loan from Lanus on March 2.
