The Charleston Battery will be paying a visit to Atlanta next week to face the Silverbacks in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup. The Silverbacks easily knocked out PDL side SC United Bantams by a 4-1 count this evening thanks to a pair of goals in the first and second halves.
Atlanta United’s USL affiliate has been in great form to open league play, starting the 2017 campaign with a 5-1-1 mark. Their 16 points is good for first in the Eastern Division, two points clear of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Part of Charleston’s success has been due to the play of United loanee Romario Williams, whose six league goals puts him in a three-way tie for first.
