Atlanta United 2 lost 2-0 to Ottawa Fury Sunday afternoon at TD Place. Center back Tyler Ruthven returned to the starting lineup after missing more than a month of action due to a hamstring injury.
Ottawa opened the scoring in the 40th minute. Fury FC’s Carl Haworth made an interception in the midfield before dribbling into the 18-yard box where he laid off a pass for Christiano François in the middle of the box who finished a one-time shot into the lower left corner.
Fury FC doubled its lead in the 67th minute through Thomas Meilleur-Giguère. Mour Samb dribbled to the end line on the right side of the penalty area before sending a cross toward the middle of the box.
