In an out of blue sequence of events occurring in the times preceding the hiring of general manager Travis Schlenk, Atlanta Hawks staffer Wes Wilcox stepped down as the team’s general manager.
In a reshaping of the Hawks front office that also saw Mike Budenholzer resign as the team’s president of basketball operation, it was initially presumed that Wilcox would remain with Atlanta as a special advisor to ownership. Now it is looking more and more like the Hawks and Wilcox will be parting ways.
