Walter Tavares began his third D-League assignment Friday night in a 113-104 loss by the Austin Spurs to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Tavares was plagued by foul trouble early on picking up three in just over nine minutes of action in the first half. He ended up playing 16 minutes overall and finished with three points, two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and five fouls.
Austin took an 84-82 lead into the fourth but were outscored 31-20 over the final 12 minutes of the game.
