Trae Young passed Dominique Wilkins and John Drew to move into the No. 2 spot in Hawks rookie scoring but Young and his team lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 118-98 Friday night in State Farm Arena.
Young passed Wilkins for third place on the Atlanta rookie scoring list in the second quarter and moved past Drew for second place late in the fourth with his 1,444th point. Pete Maravich set the Hawks' record with 1,880 points in 1970-71.
Young scored 18 points in the first quarter, but only eight the rest of the way as the Hawks’ three-game winning streak, tying their longest of the season, was snapped.
