Tiago Splitter to miss at least six weeks with calf strain

In mid-October, the Atlanta Hawks received the unfortunate news that Tiago Splitter would miss at least four weeks after suffering a setback in his injury rehabilitation. Now, with that original timetable in the past, the team has put forth some even more negative news with regard to the veteran big man and a potential return this season.

On Friday evening, the Hawks announced that Splitter will miss at least six additional weeks as a result of a right calf strain suffered during his rehab. That timetable is fluid at this point, but even if Splitter were to return on time, it would be well into January and after the former Spurs center missed the end of the 2015-2016 season, the injuries continue to mount.
