LOS ANGELES —
Thousands of people are set to attend a public memorial service Monday for NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, who were killed last month along with several others in a helicopter crash.
The basketball superstar and his 13-year-old daughter will be honored in a sold-out Staples Center, the arena where Bryant played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The helicopter plunged into a steep hillside at about 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 26 with an impact that scattered debris over an area the size of a football field and killed all aboard.
