The Atlanta Dream were dealt a big blow on Sunday when they learned that forward Sancho Lyttle will likely miss the remainder of the regular season with a foot injury.
Lyttle left Friday’s game in Indiana with what was called an ankle injury late in the second quarter and did not return. The team announced on Sunday that Lyttle suffered a break of the fifth metatarsal in her right foot. She is out indefinitely and is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season.
Lyttle’s offensive numbers had declined this season but her importance to the Dream defensively and on the boards can’t be overstated.
