In the now famous interview with Chris Vivlamore and Jeff Schultz of the AJC published, Atlanta Hawks owner Tony Ressler indicated that the front office duo of Mike Budenholzer and Wes Wilcox was safe, adding that he believed that “Bud and Wes can actually do what I’m looking to do, can achieve the greatness I’m looking to achieve at this franchise.” Less than two weeks later, however, a report from Jeff Goodman and Marc Spears of ESPN indicates that Wilcox and the Hawks have “parted ways” at this time.
This is blindsiding news given the context and a move that will certainly shed the light of intrigue on the front office.
