The Atlanta Hawks will reportedly add two new assistant coaches to Nate McMillan’s staff, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report. McMillan adds two familiar faces, one being one of his former assistants with the Portland Trail Blazers, Joe Prunty, and the other being his son, Jamelle McMillan.
Prunty was with McMillan from 2008 to 2010 in Portland, and spent the bulk of his time since then between stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2010-2013) and Milwaukee Bucks (2014-2018). He served as interim head coach of the Bucks in 2018 after the firing of Jason Kidd.
Jamelle McMillan started his career as assistant coach in 2013 with the New Orleans Pelicans under Monty Williams.
