Per a report from the AJC’s Michael Cunningham, the Hawks plan to waive Quinn Cook, Jeremy Evans, and Tyler Cavanaugh.
Evans and Cavanaugh were automatic casualties—they had to be waived in order to complete the trade with Cleveland that was reported earlier in the day. Cook looked to be safe, as the team’s roster was already trimmed down to 15 full-time players (plus Josh Magette as one of the team’s 2-way contracts). However, it seems the Hawks will move forward without Cook, paying his $100,000 guarantee to let him walk rather than his full $1.
