Charlie Brown scored 16 points in 28 minutes but the Hawks lost to the Wizards 76-71 Thursday in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Tahjere McCall was the only other Hawks player scoring in double figures with 12. McCall, a guard, led the Hawks with nine rebounds.
The Hawks, who were ahead 22-13 after the first quarter, finished the preliminary round with a 1-3 record and begin tournament play Friday. Washington is 2-2.
The Hawks again played without De’Andre Hunter, the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA draft. He was held out due to a sore right knee.
