Paul Millsap undergoes non-surgical procedure on his left knee

The Atlanta Hawks updated the status of forward Paul Millsap Monday evening and the news is not good. Millsap had his knee examined by famed orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews and has been diagnosed with left knee synovitis. He underwent a non-surgical procedure at Emory and has been ruled out for the next three games, after which his status will be updated as appropriate.

Knee synovitis occurs when the synovial membrane which lines and lubricates the knee joint, becomes inflamed. Swelling or stiffness in the knee joint may develop following another injury or from arthritis or gout.
