Following on from a historical regular season for the Atlanta Hawks, first it was head coach Mike Budenholzer who got recognized by the NBA, and now it’s the team’s shooting guard Kyle Korver.
It’s not necessarily his work on the court that has led to this latest accolade for the 34-year-old though, instead it’s the way he carries himself during the game and as a professional athlete.
In claiming the NBA’s Sportsmanship Award, otherwise known as the Joe Dumars Trophy, Korver becomes the first Atlanta Hawk to be given the award in its 19 year history.
The shortlist for the award is established taking into account the thoughts of many key figures around the NBA.
