In the 2022 NBA draft, the Atlanta Hawks found themselves drawn to Durham, North Carolina once again, where they had previously landed Jalen Johnson. This time, they selected AJ Griffin, who had just completed an impressive season at Duke University. As a freshman, Griffin averaged 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game while shooting a remarkable 44.7 percent from three-point range.
