Despite reports that beginning Friday, the NBA would allow the reopening of team practice facilities in states such as Georgia where local restrictions have been dialed back, the Hawks have not received any official word or green light from the league, according to general manager Travis Schlenk.
Even if the NBA were to allow practice facilities to reopen Friday, the Hawks would opt not to do so, Schlenk said, as they want to be cautious and wait and see the effect of those loosened restrictions — the Hawks would want to see how things unfold before making a decision to reopen the facility at a future date, when they feel it’s safe.
