Trae Young was named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for March 18-24, the league announced on Monday.
The Hawks rookie point guard averaged 25.3 points, 11.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds in helping the team to a 2-1 record. Young scored the game-winning basket with 0.1 seconds remaining in the Hawks’ 129-127 victory over the 76ers on Saturday night. He finished that game with 32 points and 11 assists.
Young has been named the Rookie of the Month in the Eastern Conference three times this season.
The Rockets’ James Harden won the award in the Western Conference as he averaged 44.
